1073 Gellivara is an asteroid. It was discovered by Johann Palisa on September 14, 1923. Its provisional designation was 1923 OW. It was named after the small town of Gällivare in Sweden, where astronomers witnessed the total eclipse of the sun in 1927. It is a member of the Themis family
